Transfer students - once you have been admitted to Lawrence Tech, we'll automatically review your transcripts for transfer credit and merit scholarships.
The following types of transfer students are not eligible to receive merit based scholarships:
- students returning to LTU
- students who change entry terms.
If you applied and were accepted and received a merit scholarship as an undergraduate student into the Master of Architectural Engineering, Masters of Architecture or a Dual Degree in Civil Engineering & Architecture programs and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 through your eighth semester, you may be eligible for a scholarship your 5th year to complete the graduate portion of these programs.
Transfer students who attend part-time or at least 6 credit hours will still be eligible for a merit scholarship, the scholarship amount will be prorated. Based on your cumulative GPA and transfer credit, we'll look to see if you're eligible for any of our merit-based scholarship awards based on the following eligibility requirements. April 1st is the merit scholarship deadline:

To be considered for this scholarship, students must meet the following requirements:
- Admitted Lawrence Tech student for with around a 3.0 GPA
- Must be employed by participating pre-approved partnership company or be a son/daughter (dependent) of someone employed with a partnership company (defined as a traditional-aged student within one year of high school graduation)
- Must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours minimum)
- Must continue enrollment (no stop outs)
- This is a stand alone scholarships and cannot be combined with merit, athletic, or any other LTU scholarship
• New incoming freshman or transfer student accepted into the College of Architecture & Design undergraduate degree programs (Architecture, Interior Architecture, Game Art, Graphic Design, Industrial Design)
• Submit up to 5 images of creative work in PDF or JPG format for static work and gif, mov or other appropriate formats for dynamic work
• Images may be hand or digitally generated, dynamic or static
• Must submit works before deadline outlined in the Scholarship Award Criteria website linked below
• Deadline: February 1st
Scholarship Award Criteria
- Scholarship Value $12,250.00 ($6,125 max per semester).
- This is a Stand Alone Scholarship, this will not be allowed to be combined with any other merit, athletic or any other LTU scholarship
- Must be employed by participating pre-approved partnership company or be a son/daughter (dependent) of someone employed with a partnership company (defined as a traditional-aged student within one year of high school graduation). Transfer students who are dependents of someone employed at a partnership company are approved on a one-to-one basis prior to enrollment.
- Must be enrolled full-time.
- Scholarship value is approximately 35% off tuition charge.
- 12 credit hour minimum per semester.
- Continued enrollment (no stop outs or scholarship is forfeited).
- Summers not included.
- Remain in good academic standing with no past due balances.
- Maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- Valid 8 semesters or 4 years.

- Must be employed by participating pre-approved partnership company or be a son/daughter (dependent) of someone employed with a partnership company (defined as a traditional-aged student within one year of high school graduation)

To be considered for this scholarship, students must meet the following requirements:

• Phi Theta Kappa Member
• College GPA of 3.0 or higher
• 24 hours of transfer credit
• Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship application and essay describing how attending a community college has prepared you for the transition to a four year university submitted by April 1st

The Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Program is a scholarship-for-service program designed to produce the next generation of DoD S&T Leaders and serves as key recruitment tool for future workforce members.
The SMART Scholarship application portal will open August 1, 2022 and close on December 1, 2022 for students to apply for the 2023 cohort. All applicants are required to submit applications online by December 1 at 5:00 PM EST. Supporting materials, such as references letters, must be received by December 1 at 5:00 PM EST. Traditionally, applicants are notified of their award in the spring. Application materials are not returned to applicants.
Student Scholar Benefits:
- Full tuition and education related fees (does not include items such as meal plans, housing, or parking)
- Annual stipend paid at a rate of $25,000 - $38,000 per year, depending on prior educational experience
- Summer internships (multi-year participants)
