Designing Tools; Designing Designs
Designing Tools; Designing Designs
CoAD's Fall 2021–22 lecture series kicked off with graphic design, animation, and coding. We invited Motion and Generative Designer and Educator Kiel Mutschelknaus to virtually share his expertise and experience. In the last couple of years, Kiel's studio practice has been transformed by rethinking the tools he uses in his work. By switching to a more generative approach and creating his own image-making tools, his personal and client work has expanded in scope and depth. This virtual-only lecture covered the development of that process from early exercises in scripting, to the development of coded tools, to current client projects that merge old methodologies with current generative approaches.
