Network Drives
Many academic and administrative departments have departmental share drives for storing data used by many members of their departments. These department share drives are also accessible from on and off campus.
Mapping Instructions
Please click on the applicable operating system for instructions on mapping network drives:
On Campus
- Open the File Explorer
- Right click on "This PC"
- Click on "Map Network Drive"
- Select the desired drive letter
- For departmental shares: In the "Folder" box type \\vradium\depts\name of the shared drive
- For Faculty/Staff shares: In the "Folder" box type \\vradium\facstaff\your Banner ID number
- Click "Finish"
Off Campus
- Connect to the network through VPN
- Open the File Explorer
- Right click on "This PC"
- Click on "Map Network Drive"
- Select the desired drive letter
- For departmental shares: In the "Folder" box type \\vradium\depts\name of the shared drive
- For Faculty/Staff shares: In the "Folder" box type \\vradium\facstaff\your Banner ID number
- Click "Finish"
MacOS X
To begin, first click on the "Finder" icon located in the bottom left of your dock (by default).
Next, click “Go” on the program bar at the top and select “Connect to Server…”
This brings up a new window asking for the server.
- Faculty & staff should enter:
smb://vradium.campus.ltu.edu/facstaff/your 9-digit banner no. - For departmental shared drives enter:
smb://vradium.campus.ltu.edu/depts/name-of-department-share
Click “Connect.”
If asked to verify certificate, click “Continue.”
You will be asked for your Name and Password. This is the same campus username and password used to log in to the LTU Network and Canvas.
When finished, click “OK.”
