Medical Device Design

The fundamental objective of this course is to present medical devices as complete engineering systems. Students will thus learn about the working principles, design, manufacture, reliability and some regulatory hurdles involved in the development of biomedical devices and sensors. These include both external and implanted devices such as ECG monitors, pacemakers, blood pressure monitors and glucose sensors.
