Adaptive Reuse
College of Architecture + Design
ARCH
This interdisciplinary course examines the processes and issues of rehabilitating landscapes, city districts, and buildings through Adaptive Reuse. The conceptual underpinnings and practical applications of Adaptive Reuse are explored starting with an immersion in nineteenth century theoretical writings. The course moves chronologically to present day, using historical framing to consider current historic designations and sustainability guidelines.
